Vision Source Mandan has been providing exceptional eye care to residents of Mandan, Bismarck, and surrounding communities for over 70 years. Our journey began in 1950 with Dr. John Stenslie, whose commitment to quality eye care established our foundation. Through the years, our practice has evolved under the care of dedicated optometrists including Dr. Keith Junker, Dr. Daniel Little, and Dr. Terry Schmidt.
Today, under the leadership of Dr. Brittany Schauer, who joined in 2012 and later became owner, along with Dr. Wayne Aberle and Dr. Danielle Dyke, we continue this legacy of excellence. Our team takes immense pride in serving patients who have trusted us with their eye care for generations – some from our very beginning with Dr. Stenslie. Dr. Brittany G. Schauer, O.D.
Pacific University College of Optometry, 2012
Glaucoma Treatment, Macular Degeneration Management
Dr. Schauer joined Vision Source Mandan in 2012 after graduating with honors from Pacific University College of Optometry. A North Dakota native raised near Streeter, she maintains deep roots in our community. Dr. Schauer serves on the North Dakota Optometric Association board and as Co-Administrator for the Vision Source Network for North Dakota. When not caring for patients’ vision needs, she enjoys barrel racing, horse competitions, and spending time with her husband Dave and their two children.

Originally from Herreid, South Dakota, Dr. Aberle graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1999. After gaining valuable experience in Chicago and Minneapolis, he returned to our region in 2000 and joined Vision Source Mandan in 2020. With special interests in contact lenses, urgent eye care, and diabetic eye exams, Dr. Aberle is committed to comprehensive family eye care for patients of all ages. He’s an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoys family time with his wife Cressy and their five children.
